What Excites Us

The Riverside Vision: To God Alone be the Glory! 

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!" - Psalm 115:1

We get excited about the GLORY OF GOD! We hope to live so that God is made visible (magnified) in our Christian community. Our history is replete with testimonies of his greatness and of our complete dependence upon him. Essential to fulfilling the vision is the Word of God and the historic doctrines of His grace. The message that the God who made everything is sovereign, without limitation and without need is God-exalting and central to man’s happiness. God is glorified and we are whole when the majesty of God is unfolded through the teaching and living of His Word. Consequently, it is our desire for the Bible to be central in all we do.

God’s complete and unwavering faithfulness is also experienced through the ministry of Prayer. When we ask, He provides, and He gets the glory.

The light of His glory shines brightest as we freely share the love which He has poured out on us. Loving one another in a community of close relationships is half of this demonstration of love. The other half is the free sharing of His mercy with people who need Him. We desire to be serious, intentional and extravagant in both our love for one another and our devotion to doing good for people in urgent need.
